Hi, I’m Lisa McArdle, and I’m running for Town Council because I believe in the power of community. I grew up with a strong sense of neighborhood pride — the kind where you knew all your neighbors, supported local businesses, and looked out for one another. That’s the kind of community I want to help build and protect here in North Hempstead.

As an educator and advocate for over 25 years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping people reach their full potential. Whether it’s been working with students with special needs, supporting parents, teachers and schools, or creating programs that open new doors for learning, I’ve always believed in lifting others up.

Today, I see real challenges facing our town: it’s getting harder for young adults and seniors to afford to stay here, small businesses are struggling, and there’s a growing need for stronger mental health resources. Near and dear to my heart I believe that we need to support employment for adults with disabilities as they are an overlooked resource.  I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on these issues, because I know that when we invest in our people, our community thrives.

I’m proud to call Williston Park home, and I’m even prouder to stand with all of you who want to see North Hempstead grow into an even better place for families, small businesses, and future generations. Together, we can make sure our town stays a place we’re proud to call home.
